LONDON: Heathrow Airport - After some croissants, espresso and tea with milk...we are now wondering why the London airport is surrounded by Christmas lights. Blinkie ones.
We have all safely made it, Mo from California met up with us in Detroit and Dave & Megan in London. So far, rather uneventful, the only prayer request is that Mo's luggage is checked all the way through to Sierra Leone. Her bags have all of our teaching supplies and Story of God literature. With bag tags gone, the airline is helpless to find them. So we give it up to God and pray they are there, waving hello to us when we get there.
I am currently reading a fabulous book by Richard Sterns, "The Hole in our Gospel." Rich is the current president of World Vision and it speaks of his journey of becoming president and that God has called us to help those in need. A few quotes that have really resonated with the theme of our trip.
Luke 6:49
"But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."
"Let my heart be broken by the things that break the heart of God." - Bob Pierce, founder of World Vision
I pray this last prayer for our team...
Pray for safety and health on our last leg!
Love,
Anna Burrows
P.S. I (meaning Megan) only got 1 and 1/2 hours of sleep before I left. On that morning my mother described me as being "giddy"...you can only imagine now! Pray for my poor, poor teammates! -Megan!
