The rest of Saturday was excellent! The baptisms went well (for their "new" name two people chose Peter and one person David). And the Jesus video was AMAZING!
The place was packed full of people and they were hushed and silent the entire time! For many this was the first time ever seeing a video, not to mention in their own language (Themne)! For the alter call at least 75% of the people came forward! Afterwards we handed out 600 BIBLES!! The people who brought the bibles (Ruth and Robert who work for Living Water International) said it was the craziest they had ever seen the bible handing out time! People were literally starting a riot to get to the bibles!
Sunday was pretty cool! The African church service lasted from 9 till the end of the sermon at 2:30. It included worship, testamony, prayer, and even a skit put on by the kids of the Christmas story.
Today went amazing. According to Anna, Peter, and Karen working with the teachers went really good, and the teachers are really understanding what they are teaching.
With the kids it was beyond cool! They were mostly attentive and listening, the lighting was way better so all the animated characters weren't these crazy washed out, white people, and a teacher explained the entire story (in detail) in Krio for about 15 minutes after it was over. We showed The Prodigal Son, and it was actually really applicable to Sierra Leone life!
That's it for now!
Continue to pray!
We are taking the Jesus video to our village Makambo tomorrow night and to Rogbum on Wednesday!
Thanks, Megan!
